CASK! Challenge Reminder

cestwhat_logoJust a quick reminder that the CASK! Challenge will be taking place tomorrow, Tuesday November 18th, 7:00 P.M. at C’est What (67 Front St East).  This is a tasting event to compare the relative merits of hand-pulled cask conditioned ale and the more typical gas dispensed keg beer.

The brewers themselves will also be there to chat with us and answer any questions.  So, if there is something you’ve always wanted to know about cask, this is your chance to ask!

Tickets can be purchased online or you can try your luck at the door.

This should be a fun event.  Hope to see you there!

  1. Thanks for organizing the CASK Challenge in conjunction with the C’est What.
It was a fine evening indeed & proved that well kept real ale can deliver superior flavour & complexity.
I hope to see other pubs in the city participate as CASK’s profile burgeons.
Keep holding the banner high for beer in it’s purest form.
    Cheers!

  2. I did this for the Vancouver Beer Meetup group in September 2008 at a local brewpub, Dix Barbecue and Brewery (http://beer.meetup.com/119/calendar/8627169/). We were fortunate in that there was both cask-conditioned and draught smoked porter and IPA on at the same time — a perfect side-by-side comparison. Everyone preferred the cask versions. Smoked porter is also a natural with barbecue. Therefore, it paired very well with the smoked meats in the nachos and the Savannah Salad we had.
