Cask Ale Events during Toronto Beer Week

The upcoming Toronto Beer Week (September 20th – 26th 2010) promises to be an exciting seven days, with over 100 events currently planned in venues across the city, including a wide range of cask ale events for us to enjoy.  Here is a sampling of the cask ale events on offer.  Visit Toronto Beer Week Events Page for more details.

  • FEATURE EVENT – CASK! Social at Bryden’s – Saturday September 25th 3:00 – 6:00 pm.  Four cask ales to choose from (Beau’s Matt’s Gose, Granite Best Bitter Special, Great Lakes Miami Dunkelweiss, Muskoka Dark Chocolate Ale) plus complimentary simple food pairings and prizes to be won.  Bryden’s is conveniently located across from Jane subway station at 2455 Bloor St West.
  • Ontario IPA CASK Challenge Final Begins – Bar Volo – September 20th – 22nd 4:00 pm till close.  My Bitter Wife vs. Smashbomb IPA
  • Cask Ale and Oysters With Oyster Boy – The Feather’s – September 20th.  Wellington cask ale with Oysters.
  • Inaugural Cask Night – Burger Bar – September 20th 7:00 p.m.  Burger Bar will be tapping their first cask of Great Lakes ales.
  • Ken’s Kask at Kilgour’s, 509 Bloor St W, September 22nd 6:00 pm till close.  Join Black Oak’s Ken Woods and beer author Nick Pashley over a pint of Hop Bomb on cask, while it lasts.
  • A Night With Black Oak BreweryBar Volo – September 23rd.  Two special casks plus every Black Oak beer on tap.
  • Adventures Of The Gourd Harvest Beer Festival – The Rhino – September 23rd.  Great Lakes Pumpkin Ale and Grand River Highballer Pumpkin Ale available in cask and keg.
  • Collaboration Cask Night – Bar Volo – September 24th 10:00 pm.  Four barVolo / Biergotter House Conditioned Casks will be released.
  • Cask Night at the TRANZAC – September 24th 5:00 pm.  The Tranzac will be tapping cask ales from Great Lakes Brewery.
  • Cask Tapping at the Gladstone – September 24th 6:30 – 9:30 pm.  Featuring Great Lakes Brewery Johnny Simcoe American Pale Ale with brewery reps present to answer questions about the cask ale brewing process
  • Harvest Fest – Great Lakes Brewery– September 25th 12:00 – 4:00 pm.  An afternoon of harvest celebration, featuring cask conditioned Pumpkin Ale and Sweet Pete’s Peach Wheat. Live music, grilled sausages, pumpkin pie, peach pie, and more.
  • Cask Ale Weekend – Granite Brewery – September 25th – 26th. Experience and enjoy the wonderful world of cask ales at a great price.  Four casks available (Hopping Mad, IPA, Best Bitter Special and “The New Beer” on gravity tap at the bar).
