This year represents the 10th anniversary of Cask! Toronto, so please join us to celebrate the last Cask! Social of 2018 (but don’t worry, there will be more socials to come next year too). This social will take place on Saturday November 24th 2:00-6:00pm at The Monarch Tavern, 12 Clinton St, Toronto, one block south of College Street in the Little Italy district.
Here is the list of cask beers that will be available for tapping on Saturday:
- Durham Black Eye IPA
- Durham Red Dragon
- Junction Conductor’s Craft Ale
- Great Lakes Shiny Pants Stout
- Granite New Forest Red IPA
- Granite 1812 Porter w/Bourbon Oak
We hope to see you there!
Join us for our next Cask! Social at People’s Pint Brewery, 90 Cawthra Ave, in the Junction area of Toronto. There will be 4-5 casks of beer available plus tasty pies from the Pie Commission.
This social will take place on Sunday June 10th starting at 12 noon.
As a brewing collective, People’s Pint Brewery not only brews their own beers but also invites fellow brewers to collaborate with them in brewing unique small batch beers on their premises. Their moto, ‘Beer by the people, for the people’ was joyfully embodied by some of your fellow Cask! members when they helped to brew one of the beers that will be available on Sunday.
Hope to see you there!
This year’s Beer for a Cure event will be held on Saturday April 21st 6:30pm at The Granite Brewery, 245 Eglinton Ave E, Toronto. New this year, we will be featuring live music from local Toronto performer Benny Caruana. Further details can be found below. To reserve a seat please RSVP here.
The cask ales and menu will be announced soon so that you can make your main course selections!
We are pleased to announce the date of our annual charity beer dinner in celebration of St. George’s Day:
- Saturday, April 21st, 6:30pm at The Granite Brewery and Tied House, 245 Eglinton Ave E, Toronto.
Further details will follow. You can RSVP here.
It is hard to believe that a month has passed since St. George’s Day. It has been quite a month!
We would like to thank you all for participating in the festivities–bidding on the auctions, donating prizes, donating beer, buying beer and, of course, drinking beer and celebrating England.
We are happy to say that we raised $3,800 to be shared by the Heart and Stroke Foundation and Prostate Cancer Canada.
That means we have raised more than $25,000 over the years for charity!
The funds will be split between the charities but your receipt will come from Prostate Cancer Canada as the funds raised through the auctions will be sent to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Thanks to Maz, Julian and Nick for your continued support.
Robert and Caroline
Thanks to all who attended the 2017 St. George’s Day dinner at the Granite Brewery. An oodle or two of cash was raised to support the Heart and Stroke Foundation and Prostate Cancer Canada, and we hope you had a good time as well.
At that event we announced that our next CASK! Social will be held at Birreria Volo on Saturday May 6 2017, from 2 to 5 pm. For the handful of you who may not yet have visited this relatively new spot, it’s at 612 College Street, Toronto, near Grace Street, practically next door to the Royal Cinema. Shortly before Bar Volo’s demise last year, we held a farewell Social there, so it’s appropriate now that we visit Son of Volo, run by Tomas and Julian, the sons of Ralph Morana. No one has done more for cask ale in Toronto than the Morana family, so we know we’re in good hands.
Many of you may have known our fellow Cask! member and friend, Roger Pettet. Sadly, Roger died earlier this week. It will seem strange to hold a CASK! Social without him. This will be neither the first nor the last opportunity to raise a glass to Roger, but be assured that he will be much on our minds. Glasses will be raised and stories will be swapped.
We’ll let you know when we hear details about which casks will be on offer.
See you there!
